Southern National Bank of Texas is a full service, family-owned bank serving the Houston and Sugar Land areas. Located on South Post Oak Boulevard in the Galleria, this facility like their Sugar Land Headquarters, replicates another of Thomas Jefferson's distinctive designs.

This bank was designed and built to replicate not only the exterior, but to also include the interior details of Thomas Jefferson's "Farmington" building. Kirksey and Mission were challenged to replicate this historic landmark to house a state-of-the-art banking facility in an atmosphere of yesterday's world.

Our project started through a trip to Virginia, where we visited "Farmington", and gathered information and details, down to the profiles of base trim. From this trip, we obtained insight for the construction of this authentic reproduction. Throughout design, budgeting and construction, to the delivery of this project, Mission Constructors, Southern National Bank and Kirksey & Partners Architects worked together to deliver this banking facility within budget and on time.

This project has many unique construction techniques, which makes it stand out from other ordinary buildings. Originally, the structure was to be only a two-story facility, but the site located for the bank had and existing building with a basement. Mission demolished the existing building and carefully kept in tack the basement and old concrete 1st floor structure. The new facility was redesigned to straddle the existing basement and concrete structure to enable the bank to use this space for conference rooms, expansion and other banking events.

From the detailed exterior facades to the interior woodwork, along with base and crown moldings which depicted Jefferson's design, this project entailed a unique craftsmanship not typically found in projects built today. The owner supplied many unique items, such as an antique vault door and a Tiffany Chandelier reproduction for the main lobby.

This project was designed and constructed to meet the owner's requests. With over one hundred owner initiated architectural changes and the unique construction challenges replicating a historic structure, Mission Constructors delivered the project as scheduled for Southern National Bank's grand opening.
